The 18 best hair dryers of 2024, tested and reviewed

We found that on the top setting, most dryers blew air at about 40 mph as measured a couple of inches away from the nozzle. That blowing air was around 200 °F (more if we held the dryer in place for a few moments). Although some dryers achieved faster wind speeds than others, interestingly that didn’t end up translating to notably or consistently faster dry times once we used them on our hair. Although this dryer is just as fast as pricier models, it’s the heaviest of our traditional hair dryer picks, and its attachments can be hard to remove. After putting in over 20 hours of research and spending over 70 hours testing 42 hair dryers, we’ve found that some are far more pleasant to hold and use than others.

Best 2-in-1 hair dryers

Unlike lower-cost hair dryers that are thrown into a cardboard box, this one comes in sturdy packaging and each element of the dryer has its own compartment. Above all, the dryer was protected, which I appreciated as it has a matte black surface and is prone to scratching. The CHI Lava Pro Hair Dryer, while pricey, is a high-quality, powerful hair dryer that dries hair quickly and smooths out frizz. It's also uniquely lightweight and feels comfortable to hold, making it a great option for those with long, thick hair.

Best for thick, dense, or curly/coily/kinky hair

It also has a mere one year of warranty coverage, and its nonintuitive touchscreen felt gimmicky. Compared with the Rusk W8less, the Amika Accomplice Compact Dryer (currently unavailable) is heavier, limited to a lower max temperature (215 °F), and double the price. However, its 9.5-foot cord ties with that of the GHD Helios for the second-longest cord among the dryers we’ve tried. The packaging for hair dryers is adorned with a ton of buzzwords and specs.

However, after a few wash-and-go tests, our curly-haired testers found that they liked using the included DevaFuser attachment, a unique hand-shaped diffuser that helps dry curls and waves without losing definition. You can buy a universal-fit version of the DevaFuser for any attachment-compatible hair dryer. We always enlist a range of testers for any review, but hair-care products and tools are another story. While some can be used across different hair textures, lengths, curl patterns, thicknesses, colors (natural and unnatural), and concerns, many are created with specific consumers and their needs in mind. When reviewing tools, we also take into account testers’ experience levels.

Last year, Shark expanded its lineup with the Speedstyle (a traditional hair dryer) and the Smoothstyle, a 2-in-1 hot tool. You can use the Smoothstyle on wet hair mode to dry it off, or on dry hair mode, which activates the heated ceramic plates to style your strands, according to the brand. This lightweight dryer weighs a little over a pound and has a 4.7-star average rating from 100 reviews at Pattern Beauty.

If you want a slightly more affordable option, opt for the Pro Dryer 2000 from the brand. It’s heavy, but you don’t have to hold it high like a conventional dryer. It has a 5.5-foot hose that attaches to a 9-inch heat-producing wand.

The Conair 1875-Watt 3-in-1 Ionic Styler has a long row of grills (and a brush attachment) instead of a circular nozzle. It gives you no way to attach a diffuser, which means you’re stuck with a single-purpose dryer. Despite the Supersonic’s flaws, compared with other dryers we’ve tested, this one truly feels like a luxury to use every day. One tester found that the heavier cord tired out her arms when she was drying the top of her head, though resting the power bar (which most dryers do not have) on the counter helped. The sound the Supersonic emits is a high-pitched whine, with none of the low rattle that other dryers put out. Whether this sound is more pleasant, as the company claims, is a matter of personal opinion, though.

Angela Trakoshis after using the Shark hair dryer and attachments with smooth, blown-out hair. All of the attachments are magnetic, which makes it delightfully easy to pop on and off – no cumbersome twisting, turning, or clicking required. The precision concentrator was my favorite when it came time to blowing my hair straight – I was able to get a very smooth, silky end result, and I also didn't experience any frizz. One thing to note is that it requires 1200 watts of power, which means the tip of the dryer can get extremely hot. I suggest letting it cool before removing the magnetic attachments (which include a diffuser, precision concentrator, and smoothing nozzle) and storing it.

If you have the time, low heat is best for stymieing damage caused by heated hair tools, and don't forget to prep with a heat-protectant. You might already be using one, though, as many leave-in products include protective ingredients. Cosmetic chemist Ginger King previously told Allure readers to look for heat-protecting products whose formulas feature ingredients like meadowfoam seed oil and VP/DMAPA acrylates copolymer.

At 1.3 pounds, it’s noticeably heavier to hold than the W8less, especially after several minutes of drying. Unlike on other dryers, the cool-shot button is wide, so holding it down for several seconds isn’t uncomfortable. If you can’t or don’t want to leave the house with wet hair, you need a hair dryer.

No matter what you seek or your individual needs and concerns, Allure wants to ensure that you love anything we recommend in our stories. We believe that having a diverse team of writers and editors—in addition to the wide range of outside testers and industry experts we regularly call upon—is essential to reaching that goal. Sarah Han after using the Dyson hair dryer with smooth, frizz-free hair. Although the 1,875-watt Revlon Compact Styler is a wallet saver at around $10, the savings do not make up for the dryer’s added heft, its lack of attachments, and its reduced wind speeds compared with those of our picks.

My first foray into hot tools began with a CHI flat iron – it was the first hot tool I ever purchased, and yielded smooth, frizz-free results for the close-to eight years that I used it. Because the body of the CHI Lava Pro is made of a volcanic-lava-and-ceramic heater, it provides, gentle, consistent heat; that means it affords me the ability to dry my curls at lower temperatures. Sure, I have the option to go up to 250 degrees, but I usually hover around 190, which allows me to dry my hair without completely frying it. This is a particularly good hair dryer for those who want something that doesn't sound like a jet engine taking off in your bathroom. According to Dyson, the Supersonic measures 79 decibels on average and emits less noise than the average hair dryer. Customer reviews of the 1,900-watt Parlux 3200 Hair Dryer were pretty good at the time of our research, and the compact design of this model is nice.

Keep tabs on the SpeedStyle, especially around big shopping moments, and you may be able to snag it at a budget-friendly price. Although these pieces snap onto the nozzle, they look as if they might screw on, which can be confusing at first. Brush dryers have gained popularity because they simplify the drying process by simultaneously brushing and styling your strands, says Foster. This highly rated Revlon tool has nylon and tufted bristles designed to detangle and get close to the roots to create volume, according to the brand. Revlon’s One-Step has three heat settings and three speed settings, along with a cooling feature to help your style last longer. It has both ionic technology to dry your hair quickly, as well as ceramic to distribute heat evenly, according to the brand.

The 6-foot cord, though shorter than those on our other picks, is longer than those on most other inexpensive hair dryers. The buttons are easy to use, but the cool-shot button is a little small and harder to hold down than the cool-shot button on our top pick. Its tourmaline ceramic technology helps seal in moisture and prevent frizzy hair, experts told us. Other attachments include the brand’s Double-Layered Detangler Pik and Single-Layered Detangler Pik that help smooth and straighten hair, according to Kiss. It also comes with a removable filter, which Lothrop says is important to clean regularly. The Supersonic has all the key factors our stylists say are most important, so it’s not surprising Dyson’s unique-looking machine tops our list.

CHI Lava Pro Hair Dryer review: we test the luxe new tool

The CHI Lava Pro makes hardly any noise and the LCD display is great when doing hair in a dimly lit bathroom. You know, when I need to light candles to help me unwind after a long day. Now, the Houston-based company is adding a new hair dryer to its family of heat tools—one that promises to reduce drying time while producing a stronger air flow of up to 110,000 rpm/min. I’m not a hairstylist, and I’m definitely not a physicist, but when I heard those numbers I was intrigued. When shopping for a hair dryer, our experts recommend looking at certain factors including your hair type, technology and settings to help you safely dry your hair with the help of these devices.

How we picked the best hair dryers

For the initial iteration of this guide, we timed the models drying a swatch of hair from a wig wetted with 5 grams of water, with the dryers on their highest setting. Marabello says a lighter, smaller dryer like this one is best for clients to use on their own because they can more easily maneuver the brush. One caveat, though, is that it comes with only one attachment — a contouring nozzle — but the brand has a compatible diffuser, which is available for purchase separately. “It’s the ease of using it that makes it attractive, and it gives you that salon finish,” says Karla Marabello, owner of K’Bello Organic Hair in New Jersey.

Weighing less than a pound, this travel blow dryer is a favorite of Schneider’s when she wants to dry her 2b/2c, sometimes 3a, curly hair straight. It’s also easy to store because it comes with a dust bag, can fold in half, takes up less space than traditional dryers and has a detachable nozzle, says Schneider.

For starters, the CHI Lava Pro weighs less than one pound, which is a big deal when you’re constantly lifting it to diffuse coarse hair. Trust me, lifting a heavy hair dryer can quickly turn into an unwanted workout session. The CHI Lava Pro allows me to dry my thick texture in 15 minutes and still have time for styling. It's well-constructed, gives me incredible results, and I'm hesitant to throw it in my hot tool drawer because of how sleek it is (I actually don't mind leaving it displayed atop my vanity). Our journalists combine independent research with (occasionally) over-the-top testing so you can make quick and confident buying decisions. Whether it’s finding great products or discovering helpful advice, we’ll help you get it right (the first time). The Supersonic has a two-year warranty and comes in five color combinations. Dyson in 2023 introduced a pared-down package, the Supersonic Origin, which includes only the dryer and a concentrator attachment.

If you’re on the go and need to bring your hair dryer with you, consider adding this tool to your packing list because it’s compact, foldable and has a 4.8-star rating from 200 reviews. Weighing less than one pound, it’s suitable for all hair types and helps dry your hair while also minimizing frizz because of its ionic technology, according to the brand. The dryer has auto dual voltage to automatically adapt to your new surroundings to minimize the worry of something going wrong while traveling and styling your hair.

Below, we break down how to determine which hair dryer is best for you. The Ghd Helios uses ionic technology, which means it can dry long, thick hair quickly without damaging it, according to our experts. It’s also lightweight at just 1.7 pounds, and has an ergonomic design, making it easier to style your hair, according to the brand.

Familiar additives like aloe and argan oil help, too, sealing the hair cuticle for extra defense. Foster says this lightweight professional-grade hair dryer packs a powerful punch. “As soon as you turn it on, [your hair] dries quickly,” says Foster, adding that it also stores very easily. It weighs less than a pound, so it’s lightweight enough to hold when you’re drying your hair at home, says Foster.

Elchim offers an impressive warranty and repair program that covers all its hair dryers. At 1.2 pounds, however, the Elchim Classic 2001 is heavier than our picks, and we found the handle to be thick and awkward to hold. The EZ Dryer Ion is the most effective and efficient paddle-style hair dryer brush we tested. But because it’s missing markings for the air-temperature settings, it’s impossible to determine at a glance which setting the brush is on. More importantly, it lacks an ALCI (appliance leakage current interrupter) safety plug, so if it shorts or is immersed in water, the device won’t automatically turn off and therefore could cause an electrical shock. After all, can we really say a skin-care product is the "best" for people over 50 if the only testers we’ve solicited opinions from folks who have yet to hit 30?

This shape offers a function, too, as it helps provide a straight shot of air onto your hair. This not only helps to lessen drying time, but it uses less electricity in doing so. Many hair dryers come with (or are compatible with) attachments that allow you to tailor your blow-out experience to your needs. Abergel noted that, for example, using a concentrator nozzle that precisely hits hard-to-reach areas is key to achieving salon-level results.

Conair covers the InfinitiPro with an impressive four-year warranty (PDF). The tip of this dryer gets really hot after using, so be careful placing it around small children or pets. And though the dryer itself isn't loud, I did hear a slight piercing sound in the background – almost like a television or radio that's lost reception. “Burning House” struck a chord with listeners due to its relatable themes of love, loss, and the profound impact of broken relationships. Many people connected with the raw emotions conveyed in the song, finding solace in its ability to articulate their own experiences and heartaches. In “Burning House,” Cam paints a vivid picture of a relationship engulfed in flames, using the metaphor of a burning house to symbolize the crumbling love and the urgency to salvage what remains. The song speaks to the fear of losing someone you deeply care about, and the realization that sometimes, despite your best efforts, you cannot save a love that is destined to fade away.

Katy Perry's song "E.T." came from a beat originally intended for the rap group Three Six Mafia. When her producer accidentally pulled up the beat, Perry asked to use it. "I had just picked up the guitar, and I luckily was recording a voice note, and I just sang back to her exactly what it is to this day," Johnson relates. The next day, the song was officially selected as the EP’s second single. That strong start inspired co-writer and co-producer Jeff Bhasker to come on board with the song. He came up with the chorus melody, and he also insisted on keeping the sound of an actual fire for the track after Cam and Johnson's rough work tape captured the sound of a fire in the room they were working in. The singer called co-producer and co-writer Tyler Johnson early one morning from Nashville while he was in Los Angeles and recounted a dream she'd had the previous night about an ex-boyfriend. The resulting track is quite unusual not only lyrically and in terms of imagery, but also musically, with the verses in 7/8 time.

It showcased Cam’s unique talent and established her as a powerful force in the country music genre. Music critics praised Cam’s impeccable vocal delivery, emotional depth, and introspective lyrics. The song’s ability to evoke strong emotions and its artistic merit was widely recognized, further cementing Cam’s place in the country music scene. The music video for “Burning House” perfectly complements the song’s emotional intensity. It visually depicts the pain and longing conveyed by the lyrics, showcasing the desperation to salvage a love on the brink of destruction.

Johnson admits it wasn't a song they would have likely picked as a single release, but fortunately, that decision ended up not being in their hands. Their collaboration resulted in a beautifully crafted composition that resonates with listeners. The combination of Cam’s storytelling abilities and Johnson’s melodic expertise created a truly unforgettable song. Cam takes us behind the scenes of her moving “Burning House” music video.

Yes, the young talent actually braved real flames, a singed dress, and an exploding cocktail during the video shoot. Since premiering in October, Cam’s striking music video for “Burning House” has already scored over 17 million views. ACM and CMA Award winner, Trey Fanjoy, directed the stunning visual project. Brenda talks about the inspiration that drove her to write hit songs like "Get Here" and "Piano in the Dark," and why a lack of formal music training can be a songwriter's best asset.

"Burning House" peaked at No. 2 on both the Billboard Country Airplay and Hot Country Songs charts respectively. The song was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), and has sold 1,125,000 copies in the United States as of November 2016. It received similar chart success in Canada, peaking at No. 2 on the Country chart and No. 46 on the Canadian Hot 100. It was also certified Gold by Music Canada, denoting sales of over 40,000 units in that country. With its haunting lyrics, it’s no wonder this tune has struck a chord with country listeners. Cam was inspired to start penning the song by a dream she had involving a former love interest.

The song “Burning House” by Cam holds a profound and emotional meaning that resonates with listeners on a deep level. This powerful ballad, released in 2015, tells a story of heartbreak, love, and the longing to fix a broken relationship before it’s too late. Cam’s evocative lyrics and haunting melody capture the raw emotions of regret and the desperate desire to hold onto something that is slipping away. “Burning House” played a pivotal role in catapulting Cam into the spotlight. The song became her breakthrough hit, garnering attention from both fans and industry professionals.

At its worst, ambiguity encourages chefs to ignore the cultures that repopularized California cuisine. In the 1970s, chefs believed LA had no traditions — culinarily or architecturally — so they filled the void with new ideas. Today the city has re-emerged as a hub of innovation; this time, it’s not white chefs driving conversation, but immigrant communities.

Producers Tyler Johnson and Jeff Bhasker stepped in to help the singer-songwriter capture the essence of her unconscious thoughts and create the finished tune. Despite all the talent involved, the astounding success of the track can be 100% attributed to the passion of country music fans. It was released on June 16, 2015, as the second single from her second album Untamed. Co-written by Cam along with Tyler Johnson and Jeff Bhasker, the song was inspired by a dream that she had about attempting to rescue her boyfriend from a house that was on fire.

About Using Design Review to Review and Markup Files

Most DWF files begin as a drawing or model created in such Autodesk programs as AutoCAD, Inventor, and Revit. Before a DWF file is published, the person publishing the DWF file determines which features (model, layouts, layers, blocks, named views, and so on) are included in the published DWF file. The newest version of the DWF file format, DWFx, is based on the XML Paper Specification (XPS) from Microsoft. DWFx makes it easier to share design data with reviewers who cannot install software. Autodesk® Design Review is a free program used for creating and reviewing DWF files. An open, published, and secure file format developed by Autodesk, DWF enables you to combine and publish rich 2D- and 3D-design data and share it with others.

DWG refers to both a technology environment and .dwg files, the native file format for Autodesk’s AutoCAD® software. Autodesk created .dwg in 1982 with the very first launch of AutoCAD software. DWG files contain all the information that a user enters in a CAD drawing. This data can include designs, geometric data, maps, and photos. The .dwg file format is one of the most commonly used design data formats, found in nearly every design environment.

10 Cute Disney Cruise Outfits for Women with Photos

disney cruise attire

You’re going to want to be comfortable and cool since you are in the Caribbean and it will probably be a little warm. At the end of your fun-filled days, snuggle into these cute Mickey pajamas and get some shut eye. Jessica is a full-time high school teacher and a part-time writer.

Casual Cruise Outfit

Clothing such as T-shirts, swimwear, and sports attire is not permitted. This really depends on what you’ll be doing during your trip. Just like in the parks, there is never a requirement that a young girl wear any sort of princess attire ever. That being said, a sizable subset of girls under the age of ten do end up wearing some form of princess dress while cruising. This might be for a princess photo session or for dinner on formal night.

Vintage Minnie Inspired Outfit

When packing for a Disney Cruise, consider the variety of activities and events onboard. For daytime, comfortable clothing like shorts, t-shirts, and light dresses are all you will need. In the evening, cruises have a mix of casual, semi-formal, and formal nights, so pack suitable clothes such as collared shirts, slacks, dresses, and a suit or tuxedo if desired. Going on a Disney cruise is an exciting experience, and choosing what to wear can be fun too!

Sandals and flip flops are also great options for footwear when going ashore or participating in any onboard activities. Yes, there's one on every sailing of six nights or fewer and two on voyages of a week or more, but they have a different name. "Evening chic" nights encourage passengers to go all out with tuxes and evening gowns. However, most men choose slacks with collared or button-down shirts and jackets, sans ties. Most women choose slacks and nice blouses, sundresses or party dresses. On most nights, the dress code is “cruise casual.” As Disney puts it, “Dining attire is cruise casual in all 3 main dining restaurants, meaning no swimwear or tank tops.

It pays homage to the year the Disney Studios were founded and is decorated in stunning memorabilia. While you don't necessarily need an evening gown, I would suggest somewhat nice attire. For all dinners, Robbie wore a polo shirts, nicer shorts, and comfortable shoes (closed toed). To 1923, Lydia wore a Minnie Mouse themed jean skirt and mickey ears. Cruises, at least those that visit tropical locations, are ships filled with folks clad in shorts, flip-flops, sundresses, and bathing suits. If you’re hitting the northern European or Alaskan ports, then you’ll want something warmer, sweaters, jeans, and scarves.

Royal Caribbean dress code

At night, nice jeans and nice tops are perfect for eating in the main dining rooms. As this is a fine dining experience the dress code for Disney’s Remy restaurant reflects this. The dress code starts by saying that guests are asked to  “preserve the ambiance of this fine-dining venue”.

The most common theme night on Disney ships is pirate night. This happens on almost all DCL sailings in the Caribbean and Bahamas, as well as some other destinations. Disney will give every guest a pirate themed bandana to wear on pirate night.

I love right behind the castle in Orlando and have made it my job to help people know everything they need to have an amazing Disney World vacation. In several of these mirror selfies you may notice my iPhone case and pop socket. I buy a lot of my cases on AliExpress as they are super cheap as long as you don’t mind it taking a while to get to you.

Welcome to Travels With the Crew

If you want to stock your stateroom minifridge with Gatorade, bottles of water or cans of soda, you can bring those on board, too. They must be unopened, and, as with the wine, you have to carry them on yourself, so the only real restriction is your ability to carry the drinks yourself. Even if you don't join a gift-exchange group, you might want to hang up a fish extender anyway. Sometimes other cruisers will surprise cabins with small gifts like stickers and candies. Or you can delight your own kids with unexpected gifts you place into the pouches yourself.

While U.S. dollars are generally welcome as tips in ports such as Nassau and Mexico, you'll want local currency for tips and purchases in places like Europe. It's not only fun to have a decorated door, but it can also help your kids (and you!) easily spot your door while you're still getting used to the ship. You'll need to pay extra for soda in cans and plastic water bottles (unless you are staying in the concierge level and getting them for free from the concierge fridge). So you'll save money if you bring your own containers and refill from the dispensers. Refillable water bottle stations are available around the ship, so pack a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated for free.

Just a note that out on the deck when the ship is moving it is VERY WINDY. So if you have a full skirt or dress it’s quite likely you will end up showing off more than you wanted. 😉 I’d suggest longer dresses, or just save the shorter ones for when you’re off the ship. For Bahamian Cruises, Disney usually books a day at the Disney Owned island, Castaway Cay. Guests will want to pack sunscreen, bathing suits, water-bottles, maybe some sand toys, and anything else you may need to enjoy a day at the beach. These are some perfect water-bottles that are good for bringing along with you.

And a brand new Avengers Restaurant will be debuted on the new Disney Wish Cruise Ship. For women, why not dress up as a popular female Marvel character, Captain Marvel. Yes, there are laundry machines and irons and ironing boards on a Disney Cruise ship.

This post has outfits for Disney Cruise theme nights like Pirate night, formal dining outfits, and casual outfits you can wear around the ship and in the pool area. This is unofficial and completely optional, but you will see some guests dressed up each night. This isn’t one of the themed nights on the cruise, however. Guests will have their dinner rotation at 1923 on different nights, so you’ll see people in 1920s attire on different evenings. If you're sailing on one of Disney's Marvel, Pixar or other themed cruises, you may want to pack costumes or outfits to represent your favorite superheroes or movie characters.

What to wear on a cruise: Cruise attire and dress codes

disney cruise attire

Some of Disney Cruise Line's added-fee restaurants, such as Remy — one of the most expensive alternative eateries at sea — require jackets for men and don't allow jeans. Voyages of six nights or longer will have two "cruise elegant" nights, while those five nights or shorter will see only one. Now there are of course completely new rules and this is the old dress code for Palo. The Disney Cruise Palo dress code had already been relaxed in recent years. I have left the previous dress code details below so that you can compare how it has changed. This is a very big change from the previous rules for the dress code.

Do You Have To Dress Up For Formal Night on a Disney Cruise?

For onshore purchases in the ports, you'll want to pack a credit card that charges no foreign transaction fees. Mexico and Caribbean cruises most reliably have pirate night, which is the most common theme on a Disney sailing. However, Alaska sailings often have a Frozen-themed evening instead. Trust me…..Marvel fans, you'll want to dress the part for this. Our Marvel day was the day we boarded the ship, so I have to be honest, our outfits weren't as pulled together as I would have liked. In fact, Lydia had JUST finished an appointment at the Biddibi Bobbidi Boutique, so she attended the dinner as Princess Jasmine (ha).

The ultimate Disney cruise packing list

On our cruise, we had a full day at sea (depending on your itinerary and the length of your sailing you may have one or more than one). Many people are dressed in fancy attire and everything from the dining rooms to the characters looked extra magical. Disney Cruise formal nights not only give you a chance to dress up but also to have your picture taken from a Disney photographer. Three and four-day cruises have what they call an optional dress-up night. Here, it’s mostly referred to as semi-formal, but if you have an evening gown and want to dress up, by all means, go for it. If you like dressing up on Halloween, you’ll probably like dressing up for cruise theme nights.

Cruises

disney cruise attire

Once upon a time, a jacket was required for both restaurants but jackets are now optional at Palo. (They are still required at Remy.) The same goes with jeans – Palo now allows “nice” jeans, while jeans are still forbidden at Remy. While a beautiful set of dress shoes can make you feel at your best for a formal evening, such shoes wouldn’t be practical for everyday wear aboard your cruise ship. On the first evening, it’s not a guarantee that your checked luggage will arrive in time for dinner (especially if you have early dining time). That day is always cruise casual, so wear something on board that you’ll want to wear to dinner or pack something appropriate in your cruise day bag. On the Disney Wish, 1923 is definitely the most traditional fancy restaurant.

Welcome to Travels With the Crew

I try to bring a few items that can be mixed and matched, with either a neutral or set color scheme. Since I’ll often be in a bathing suit for most days at sea, I can usually wear the same item more than once. I do, however, bring at least two bathing suits so I never have to put on a wet one. In most cases, the purchases you make on the ship will be charged to the credit card you have on file. Maximize your spend by bringing one of the best credit cards for cruises, such as the Chase Sapphire Reserve, which will award 3 points per dollar for travel charges.

If you walk the halls of a Disney cruise ship, you'll see decorations on many doors. Usually, these decorations consist of magnets, some personalized to the guests in the cabin or the cruise itself. Your Disney Cruise will likely have a themed night, though the theme will depend on where you're sailing. The day at Castaway Cay, Disney's private island in the Bahamas.

Must-Have Items

In the main dining rooms, everything other than cruise casual is simply a suggestion and is completely optional. When you are planning a Disney cruise, it’s important to make sure you’ve packed the right clothes for all the activities that you will be participating in. Whether you’re taking a Disney Cruise for the first time or you’re a seasoned cruiser, it can be difficult to know what to pack and what to wear. Women should plan on packing a variety of clothing for their cruise, depending on the type of activities they plan on doing and the weather conditions. Here are some tips for women on what to wear on a Disney Cruise. Smart casual also strongly discourages jeans -- even nice ones.

Disney recommends wearing ‘lifestyle’ shoes for adults-only restaurants and sandals or sneakers for Port Adventures. However, boots or rubber-soled shoes are encouraged if your Disney Cruise takes you around Alaska and Canada. If there is one thing a pandemic has taught us is that things can change overnight.

Bring Clothing for Shore Excursions

It's one of my favorite places in the world, with the bluest water you've ever seen and the calmest vibes you'll feel anywhere. Dressed in their formal cruise attire, they happily chatted with us and posed for pictures. My only disappointment is the lighting where many of the characters have a meet and greets. On our ship, the Fantasy, it’s by the shopping area and there is an orangish glow to all my pictures there.

Four-day sailings have the same, with an extra cruise casual night, while seven-night cruises also have a formal night and a semi-formal night. If you’re trying to pack light, feel free to repeat outfits. For many guests on tropical sailings, the only time they change out of their swimsuit is to go to dinner.

Halloween costumes are a must on Halloween on the High Seas cruises, and holiday apparel won't go amiss on Very Merrytime cruises around the holidays. Most Disney Cruises have a pirate-themed evening where everyone, even the characters, dresses up in pirate attire. The crew may lay out pirate bandanas in your stateroom for you to wear, but you should bring your own pirate gear from home.

You will see everything from Star Wars, and Marvel Comics to an array of Disney Movies themed doors. You have booked an unforgettable vacation on Disney Cruise Lines, and now you need to figure out what to wear on the cruise! It can vary depending on where your cruise is going and the season you are visiting.
